Time Flies...as do mosquitos

Believe it!  We've been in the mtns. at Cascade for over a month now.  And in a little over a month we will be returning to Arizona.  Where does the time fly to?  The temperature has been down to 32 in the mornings and this morning the bugs clumped on my motor home screens were miniature grasshoppers.  One of my least favorite insects; I am glad here in Cascade they were reasonably short lived.  Afternoons when I rode my bike down the Strand they would jump from all directions pelting me with green legs and bug eyes.  Ugh!  I think the mosquitos are also gone.  This morning when I rode to the pool it was 39 degrees.

What a great Labor Day weekend.  I was just disappointed none of the kids came...nature can be so relaxing.  Friday of course we had to watch the BSU game.  Went to the golf course bar and everyone was so friendly.   Sat by a group of youngsters (20 and 30 somethings...are they still youngsters?) a couple of which were still in college at BSU and together we had a great time.  They definately knew their football!
Saturday was lovely...every day was with temps about 80 and Don and I walked to the waterpark and watched some kyacking.  So Sunday we thought we were prepared to hike the Crown Point Trail.  We made it the five miles but Monday we did a car trip up to Warren (don't bother) we were so stiff.  Crown Point winds around the sides of Lake Cascade and total it's over 5 miles but great walk and we went early so it wasn't to hot.  Don swears he saw a wolf, I'm skeptical but our friend Caroline saw a large animal on the same trail earlier in the year.  Who knows.  Local legend tells of 275 lb. wolves.

Well gotta go...busy day doing nothing.  After swimming I rode my bike down here to the waterpark as they have WiFi and Don is out fishing in the boat.  Last night we ate trout w/almonds.  Not bad.

Thought we would have a little spinach tonight in the steamer.  Bought the spinach at Fred Meyer a couple days ago where it was on sale for .78.  Imagine my (his) surprise when I found this frog living happily in my bunch!  (anyone know the type or where the spinach came from?)
Don put him in the garden with the lettuce and green beans but it was 100 degrees out so don't know how that went...also I have a snake in my garden, so.....

Well we're going to be off next week for our vacation away from home.  Two hours away for six weeks!  I'm excited because now i can color all of the neat digis I have found!  Should have lots of time what with no internet and no TV!  Can we survive?  It will be a test that is for sure.  We will be coming down and visiting the house and our roommates but we have rented a lot for our motor home on a stream close to Lake Cascade.
Just loving looking at new digi stamps every day.  This is one from Spyder that was free today.  Just love it, so did a quick card, decided the card itself didn't need anything the image speaks for itself.  Did a little masking, embossing and coloring with pencils.  That's it. Will make some more with this image soon.

Inside
So excited that I have discovered digis...and free ones at that.  This is a  5"x7" note card I made today.  The beach digi is from leighspapercreation, the sun and sentiment from papersmooches and the crab from the sea invertebrates from firstpalette. The right side of the top card is cut off and will flip  ups to reveal the hidden note area.
The clouds were made with SU Classic Ballet Blue and a scalloped edge from a circle punch. The sand was SU craft More Mustard applied with an applicator.
The digis were colored with pencils blended with OMS and the crab was popped up.  I was happy with the way it turned out and hope to use many more digis.

Family Ties

The month of June was all about family.  Enjoying our trip and being around our extended family.  So I am sharing the card I made for my niece's new baby boy born on the 4th of July.  Also made several get well cards for family members, hope that all goes well with them.
This card was made with cricut cutouts, a punch for the tag and stamped sentiment.

Easter

Had to post these cute rabbit cards that I sent out to the kids for Easter. They are 3D and a lot of fun to make.
